My young niece has recently got herself a part time job collecting beer glasses at the local pub. My niece is really loving the work and she is proving really popular with both the customers and the staff there. She is a really sensible girl and very hard working so I am not surprised that she is doing so well. Also, she is delighted that she is earning enough money to be able to contribute to her expenses.
I have been trying really hard to think of an appropriate Christmas present for my best friend and her husband. We buy each other something every year and it is getting more and more difficult to find something that they do not already own. One thing I thought of this year was some saucer type champagne glasses. Of course, they already have champagne glasses but these are of the flute variety and I thought that saucer champagne glasses would be a real difference for them. I think they take you back to days of glamour which have long gone. However, looking for these glasses was harder than I thought. I am busy planning a cocktail party for my husband`s fortieth birthday party. I thought that everybody who attends could bring a different bottle of spirit or liqueur and I could print out cocktail recipes so that people could mix their own at the table. I thought I could also supply a variety of cocktail glasses so that people could use different glasses for the different drinks they wanted to make. After discussing it with friends they all thought it was an absolutely fantastic idea and said they wished that they had thought of it first. One friend did give me a word of advice though and said that I could not possibly provide a variety of cocktail glasses for such a vast amount of people. As she said, it would cost me a fortune. I was really grateful to her for pointing this out and thought I would ask at the local off license if they could supply some cocktail glasses instead. It was much easier than I thought it would be and they were happy to oblige. I can`t wait for the party which is this weekend. I have also asked everyone to dress up in black tie so it will be a really extravagant event.
